Helen of Troy Limited (HELE) does not currently pay a dividend, so there is no yield to measure against a purchase price. Yield on cost becomes meaningful once a company begins and grows a dividend.
Yield on Cost (YOC) Formula & Definition
Yield on cost is the dividend yield measured against your original purchase price, not today's price. As a company raises its dividend, the yield on what you actually paid keeps rising even when the market yield holds steady.
